Starting Hourly Salary Range - Depending on Qualifications:
$23.27 - $26.18 - Class "C" Operator
$27.49 - $30.92 - Class "B" Operator
$32.47 - $36.54 - Class "A" Operator

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Performs routine technical activities monitoring and operating water treatment plant machinery and equipment. Work involves maintaining, adjusting, and repairing equipment as required to maintain efficient operations and the safe provision of water to the public. The Water Treatment Plant Operators are shift positions; schedule of specific days and hours of work will vary to accommodate around the clock seven days a week operation. Reports to the Water Plant Superintendent and Lead Water Treatment Plant Operator.
Requirements
WATER PLANT OPERATOR C
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by one (1) year of experience in municipal water treatment plant operations; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
Required Certifications and Licenses
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver License and the ability to drive a city owned vehicle per established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
National Incident Management System (NIMS) training will be required (and sponsored) according to job duties and responsibilities.
Must possess a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Class “C” Drinking Water Treatment Plant Operator License.
WATER PLANT OPERATOR B
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by three (3) years of experience in municipal water treatment plant operations; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
Required Certifications and Licenses
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver License and the ability to drive a city owned vehicle per established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
National Incident Management System (NIMS) training will be required (and sponsored) according to job duties and responsibilities.
Must possess a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Class “B” Drinking Water Treatment Plant Operator License.
