The monthly base pay with optional Dual and Triple Certification pay ranges are: 
 --  Grade II base pay range ($5,976 to $7,264); with Dual Certification pay ($6,275to $7,627); with Triple Certification pay ($6,588 to $8,009) 
 -- Grade III base pay range ($6,588 to $8,009); with Dual Certification pay ($6,918to $8,409); with Triple Certification pay ($7,264 to $8,829)The starting pay is dependent upon qualifications, background and successfulexperience. 
 -- Housing stipend: dependent on commute distance to the treatment plant.(Less than 7.5 miles $500) (More than 7.5 but less than 15 miles $250) 

The LAS GALLINAS VALLEY SANITARY DISTRICT is looking for a WASTEWATERTREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR for our plant located in San Rafael, California.The candidates for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator position will possess a high schooldiploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of one year of increasingly responsible experiencein wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance. The successful candidate mustmaintain a valid California Driver’s License and either hold or obtain a minimum of a CaliforniaState Water Resources Control Board (CASWRCB) Grade III Wastewater Treatment PlantOperator Certificate within two test cycles from date of hire. The position also requires that thesuccessful candidate reside within a forty five minute automobile driving radius of the Districtoffice, during non-commute hours, to be able to respond to the treatment plant.Under the direction of the Chief Plant Operator and the Treatment Plant Operations andMaintenance Supervisor, the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator position will performoperational/maintenance/repair duties related to the District’s wastewater treatment plant, pumpstations, reclamation area disposal system and state-of-the-art membrane/ultraviolet recycledwater facility. The District’s Operators perform a variety of operational, mechanical andelectrical tasks to ensure the wastewater treatment plant and other District facilities are beingoperated and maintained at their peak performance. Dual (5%) and triple (5%) certification pay is available for individuals who hold and maintain additional certification requirements. Typicalcertifications held by Operators have been in the disciplines of CWEA Mechanical Technologistor CWEA Electrical/Instrumentation Technologist. A limited number of certifications for CWEALaboratory Analyst may also be considered upon availability. 

Work includes rotational weekend assignments, on-call duties and occasional after hoursassignments typically associated with wet weather events. The District is seeking motivatedindividuals who possess a strong work ethic. Ideal candidates holding CASWRCB Grade IIICertification with strong mechanical and/or electrical/instrumentation abilities are highly desired.Sharing a passion and awareness for protecting public health and improving our environmentfor people and wildlife will be considered carefully.
