District is a mature, upscale residential community, approximately 5,800 people occupying six square miles. DEFINITION:Under the direction of the Superintendent, to install, maintain, operate and repair water potable water transmission and distribution pumping and storage systems; monitor and maintain water quality standards; and to do other work as required. 

Installs, maintains, operates and repairs water mains, services, fire hydrants, meters, valves, pumps, reservoirs and related facilities.  Operates backhoe, trucks and other power operated equipment.  Repair pump houses and reservoirs.  Supervises and assists in making trenches and other excavations, backfilling, compacting and making temporary patches in streets.  Monitor and maintain water treatment.  Meter reads and keeps records of time and materials.  Performs pumping rounds.  Follow oral and written directions.  Additional Duties for Utility Worker III - Acts as a crew leader.  Fills in the absence of the Superintendent.   
Valid California driver's license Valid Grade D2 Water Distribution Operator Certification and Grade T2 Water Treatment Operator as issued by the State of California Division of Drinking Water (Utility worker III) Valid Grade D1 Water Distribution Operator and Grade T2 Water Treatment Operator Certification as issued by the State of California Division of Drinking Water (Utility worker II)Experience-One (Utility worker II) to Five years (Utility worker III) construction or maintenance of water facilities

Education-Graduation from high school plus college level water works courses. Must pass a pre-employment physical, alcohol/drug screen, and criminal background check. Takes standby duty. Must live within a 12 mile radius of the District office and be able to return to District office within 30 minutes (assuming rush hour traffic conditions) of receiving a call while on standby duty.
