ESD is seeking dynamic and committed engineering professionals to join the San Jose/Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (Wastewater Facility) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) division. The CIP division is staffed by more than 30 full-time permanent engineering professionals and support staff responsible for delivering a variety of challenging and complex wastewater projects estimated at over $1 billion over the next 10-15 years. Examples of upcoming projects in the Five-Year CIP include Headworks Improvements, Primary Settling Tank Rehabilitation, Secondary and Nitrification Aeration and Clarifier Upgrades, Digester and Thickener Facilities Upgrades, New Cogeneration Facility, Biosolids Transition, Automation Master Plan, Distributed Control Systems Upgrades, and Facilities Building Improvements.
The ESD CIP division is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented engineer to provide unit management of the CIP design team. Together, in partnership with the City's Department of Public Works and an outside program management consultant, this integrated team of professionals will work to deliver a variety of wastewater treatment, energy, and facilities improvement projects to transform the Wastewater Facility into a regional success and world-class utility.
The position will be responsible for managing a team of engineering and technical staff including consultants to deliver a variety of large capital improvement projects at the Wastewater Facility. The primary role of this position is to serve as engineering unit manager overseeing feasibility studies, master plan updates, and a variety of design and/or construction projects at the Wastewater Facility.
